PFHW’s Term 4 Pestival was held at Howick Primary School, where teachers and their principal are all passionate about the environment 🌱. We celebrated the recent success of the students at Howick Primary who have finished their cadetship program with Ethan and shared with the crowd what they have learnt 🎓. The students all spoke confidently, clearly, and with enthusiasm 🎤. The night then included presentations from Ethan McCormick about Pest Free Howick, Cate Jessep from Auckland Council’s Sustainable Schools team, Alex Parker from Pest Free Howick, John Tait from Trap Library East Auckland, guest speaker David Mallowes from Mellons Bay Walkways, and Gabi Ezeta from Auckland Council’s Natural Environment Delivery Team 🌍.
It was a night to celebrate recent successes in pest plant and animal management 🐦🌿 and native flora restoration 🌳, as well as a call to action for more people to get involved in this important mahi ✊. We thank everyone who came along 🙏.
Kia ora!
