On March 6, Saint Kentigern College bustled with anticipation as teachers and students from Howick schools convened for the Howick Enviroschools’ Cluster, charting a course towards a more sustainable future!
Kicking off the cluster, Henny Van Vuuren, Petro Els, Anne Zhang, and Sara Adams shared their inspirational sustainability journey at St Kentigern’s. Their dedication to nurturing young minds and fostering eco-awareness sets a brilliant example for all. We eagerly anticipate the ongoing growth of the Enviroschools journey in Howick Ward!
Led by Sage, Nancy, Rose, Kelsey, Charlotte, Shivran, James, and Myriam, the Auckland Council’s climate team engaged attendees with insightful workshops, igniting passion for climate resilience and eco-friendly ideas.
The event concluded with a dynamic presentation by the Pest Free Howick Ward team, highlighting their achievements.
Ethan showcased the impressive Cadetship Programs, while Nigel detailed progress in waste reduction and carbon emissions management in Howick schools. Newly appointed project manager Abi announced the launch of the 2024 Moth Plant Competition, following last year’s success, which saw the removal of 93,454,900 moth plant seeds. Their dedication promises even greater accomplishments this year!
